Price per Kilo: 33-Counts/2-Dip Dyed

This pure cotton, ambara charaka handspun yarn is spun by women artisans at Badanavalu Khadi Sangha. The yarn is then dyed at our Melukote natural dyeing unit, using authentic indigo sourced from Tindivanam, Tamil Nadu.

We avoid all shortcuts: no sodium hydrosulphite, no synthetic substitutes, no “German indigo.” The yarn is dyed through the traditional process, thoroughly washed, and shade-dried to preserve its natural depth of colour.

Available Counts
1) 33 counts Khadi Yarn: 33 hanks per kilo (each hank is 1000 meters). Approximately 1 kilogram yields 5.5 meters of Khadi fabric, ideal for clothing or soft furnishings.

2) 55 counts Khadi Yarn: 55 hanks per kilo (each hank is 1000 meters). Approximately 1 kilogram yields 10.5 meters of fabric, ideal for sarees and dupattas.

We have both 33-count and 55-count yarn, available in three indigo shades:
1) 2-dip dyed indigo – a soft, indigo tone
2) 4-dip dyed indigo – a classic mid-indigo
3) 8-dip dyed indigo – a deep, enduring indigo

When you buy from us, you’re not just purchasing yarn, you’re investing in rural livelihoods and encouraging India’s natural dyeing legacy.

Natural dyeing is done by our craftspeople, Lokesh and Hemant.

Shipping: Yarn is freshly dyed after your order is placed. Please allow up to 7 working days for dispatch. If there’s unexpected rain, the process may take a little longer. While we let nature take its time, we’ll keep you updated every step of the way.

Care: To keep your naturally dyed yarn safe, store it in a dry place, away from direct sunlight. An air-tight container works perfectly to keep its colours and texture fresh.

Each yarn hank is custom-dyed in small batches after your order is placed. Since it’s made exclusively for you, we cannot accept returns or exchanges.
