Legal Status and Tax Benefits
1) Janapada Seva Trust is a registered organization under the Societies Registration Act and is eligible for tax-exempt donations. Contributions made by Indian donors qualify for a 50% tax deduction under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act, 1961 (No. PRO.718/10A/BOL/BI.J20, dated 31 Jan 1976).
2) JST is also authorized to receive foreign donations, with permanent registration under the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act (No. 094580018 – Educational and Social; No. II/21022/69/(834)/85-FCRAIII, dated 6 Sept 1985).
